Believe it or not, the brain sees the most development outside the first three years of life from ages 11-24! This means that the rapid rate of growth, habit-forming, and decision-making skills are all being primed for adulthood right here and now. Combined with changing hormones, friends and life in general, pre-teen and teen years can be a struggle. Not knowing where you fit in either as a teen or a parent is a really common feeling at this age. It’s also the age in which many signs of mental un-wellness start to surface. And, an age where child or teen counseling could be considered.
At Grow, we welcome you and your teen to get connected in a space that’s warm, inviting, comfortable and compassionate. Whether you’re struggling with parenting a pre-teen or teen or have a child that is struggling either outwardly or inwardly, it can be incredibly helpful to know there’s someone to talk to.
Our child & teen therapists work with pre-teens and teens in the areas of: depression, anxiety, loneliness, low self-esteem and confidence building, impulse-control, navigating friendships and relationships, issues with body image and/or eating disorders, along with helping them identify emotions and what to do with them (both the good and the not-so-good), learn mindfulness, self-compassion authenticity and more.
