Kate Waller (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals (ages 18-40s), couples, and athletes navigating the often invisible tension between “looking fine” on the outside and feeling anxious or uncertain on the inside. Many of her clients are insightful, self-aware, and high-achieving—yet they struggle to apply what they know in daily life.

Kate’s work centers on the pursuit of self-love and acceptance, helping you stay anchored in your own identity even as your roles, relationships, and seasons of life shift. She supports clients in moving away from external validation and toward a more grounded, internal sense of worth.

She is especially passionate about supporting those who:

- Appear "put together" but struggle with overthinking and anxiety.

- Feel stuck in interpersonal relationship challenges; struggling with vulnerability or finding it difficult to set boundaries.

- Identify as "people-pleasers" and find it hard to separate their own needs from the expectations of others.

- Are navigating transitions, such as graduating, career pivots, relocating, moving in together, getting married, or the shift into parenthood.

- Feel "out of sync" with milestones, navigating the grief of shifting friendships or the pressure of societal life timelines.

- Are athletes struggling with the mental pressure of competition or the transition out of a competitive sport career.

Kate’s style is collaborative, insight-oriented, and practical, balancing deep exploration with tangible tools you can use. She recognizes that pursuing therapy is a significant step that requires courage, and because of this, offers space defined by warmth, compassion, inclusivity, and respect, ensuring you feel comfortable showing up as your most authentic self.

Her approach is rooted in Attachment Theory and Family of Origin work, helping both individuals and couples understand how past experiences influence present connections. By drawing from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based techniques, Kate helps clients reduce the noise of societal and internal pressures. For couples, she incorporates Gottman-informed methods to move through communication blocks, rebuild connection, and develop healthier patterns before resentment becomes entrenched. Additionally, as a former high-level Division 1 athlete from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Kate understands the discipline required to master the mental performance side of sport and integrates this perspective for those navigating high-pressure environments.

Kate believes growth is most sustainable when it is empowered, not forced. She works alongside you to hone your existing strengths and develop goals that feel true to your values. Above all, Kate believes therapy should help you feel more confident in who you are, more connected in your relationships, and more trusting of your own inner voice.
